While I do work for the Lord, He manages my business
The Lord has blessed me with a successful business in Atlanta GA. A few years ago, I felt the desire to do more for the Lord with my business, and so I joined ASI. In the past it made me feel good to simply send money to evangelistic efforts until I realized that everything in the world is owned by Christ and if he wanted he could direct the wealth of Bill Gates or someone equally rich to evangelism. Money is not what Christ needs, he wants direct participation by all of us.
It is hard to think of evangelism when you are extremely busy and are a key person in your company. If I could buy time I would. Spending 50-60 hours a week working is what it takes and there never seems enough time to accomplish everything and still be a good husband/father.
Then in the Fall of 2005 I did the seemingly impossible and left the Purchase Orders, Hiring/Firing, Proposals, Marketing and the 100 other day to day items that keeps our business going to evangelize in the Philippines. I could not believe that there was anyway I could do this.
But, I will have you know that it worked out and as soon as I made the commitment to go, my business grew by 20% in the following six months. It grew for no reason that could be explained other then the Lord's leading. Also, while I was out of town preaching my company had no issues that had to be addressed and I had the confidence that a thousand angels were watching and caring for my company. Leaving the family was scary but the stories and enthusiasm that I came back with has inspired my son to want to go with me as soon as he is a little older. Also, my growth in Christ from the experience has relayed to an increase in faith for my entire home. The whole experience has changed my life in many ways.
Since the Philippines campaign last fall I recently participated in a campaign to India. Now, I’m currently involved in organizing another campaign to India for January 07 where we will plant and leave enough funds for approximately 20 churches to be built.
