I am excited about being able to use my God given talents to further His Gospel through ASI. I have the unique opportunity of "Sharing Christ in the Workplace" by helping other ministries get their message out utilizing the world of Digital Media.
I have always loved the media. When I was a little boy I would take a box, cut a hole big enough to put a tin can in it and pretend it was a TV camera. At 15
I received my 3rd class radio broadcast license and started in radio. I even majored in Mass Communications in college. But out of college I drifted away from my first love and for several years pursued fame and fortune in the Corporate World of Sales.
Time took its toll and I experienced what so many men in my profession did. BURN OUT. Looking for a release I bought a small video camera and on the weekends took off for the mountains of North Carolina to hike into the mountains and video tape nature. Feelings of creativity came flowing back to me.I knew in those moments of solitude in nature what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I took some savings, quit my job and headed back to the Chattanooga area where I had gone to school. I even went back to school and took some more television courses.
Shortly after that I went to work as a reporter and producer for News 12, a CBS affiliate in Chattanooga, TN. After a couple of years I realized that television news was not what I wanted to do. I wanted to do more creative work, something more significant. I started my own video production company in 1990, Video Seven Productions. I developed and produced "The Car Show", worked with Sports South and ESPN. I have written and produced several TV show and commercials. I was in the zone. I was doing what came so natural. But something was still missing.
While helping plant a church in North Georgia I came up with a concept that took my business in a different direction and a new name. First Impressions Media was born out of a need to express what
I wanted to do not only for businesses but also for Churches and Ministries. With a belief that "First Impressions do matter, I set off with a new mission statement, to help others "put a face" on their ministries by utilizing television, internet and other media.
Last fall I felt impressed to visit the Southern Union Chapter meeting of ASI in Orlando Florida. It did not take me long to realize that the Holy Spirit had led me there. What an atmosphere of genuine service! I had been searching and praying for a group of believers such as these.
I would encourage anyone one else who is ministry driven to associate themselves with ASI. Go to the next meeting and experience true discipleship.
